As part of the second projects competition for individual and collective research grants in the area of social sciences and humanities, 102 grants were awarded under the CASE Program

INTAS (the International Association for the promotion of cooperation with scientists from the New Independent States(NIS) of the former Soviet Union) has launched one open call, four collaborative calls, as well as a call for young NIS scientist fellowships and for innovation grants on
7 March 2003 with up to Euro 25.2 million available for international scientific research. The following calls provide funding possibilities for research in economic, social and human sciences.

In the fulfillment of the resolution adopted by the members of the Council of scientific curators for the program
«The Russian Centers for the Advanced Study and Education» the validity term of the «Professional Growth Vouchers», provided to the grantees placed at the first competition for individual and group research grants in the area of social sciences and humanities, has been prolonged till
February 28 2003. The funds earmarked for this Voucher are to be used in accordance with the stipulated procedure.

The National Council for Eurasian and East European Research (NCEEER) is pleased to announce that it will assume editorial responsibility for Problems of Post-Communism with the July/August 2003 issue. Submissions, which may be subject to peer review, are welcome
